The Metropolitan Police: Another apology
THANKS TO the Daily Mail, we now know all we need to know about Nicky Fisher, the woman hit by a TSG Sergeant at the G20 demonstrations.
She was apparently "shouting and swearing at the sergeant", has "faced shoplifting allegations in the past", is now "negotiating a lucrative newspaper deal through her agent Max Clifford" and "wants £50,000 for her story".
She lives with her dog Poppy and her boyfriend "in a rundown basement flat of a Victorian house facing a council estate in Brighton", of which "the front door is adorned with an anti-fur slogan and a 2003 Glastonbury Festival sticker". Furthermore, her boyfriend is "an overweight young man in an England football shirt".
Finally, while she has lived in the flat for around ten years, "she did not appear to have a full-time job".
Now we know all this, and we chuck in the fact that she's probably a vegetarian as well, I think we can all agree that she got what was coming to her.
Good evening, all.

Why do these newspapers pay this kind of money for someone who so obviously deserved a hiding, and nobody actually cares about? I for one do not want to and will not read her story.
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
Then they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out for me.
Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)
Lets hope there is someone left to speak for you, Anonymous
If nothing else, though, it shows that venal money grabbing, even with the knowledge that the press are asking for your story in order to make you look like a complete scumbag, and by association, anyone else alongside you at the protests, doesn't stop this woman from cashing in. Which essential shows how high her principles aren't.
Sorry I think that the Neu Labour Neo Nazi Storm Trooper needs a big gold star.
A half armoured steel steel stick armed fully grown man (Sorry man is the wrong word wimp, comes to mind) against a woman!!.
Wow that takes real guts
no real man can hit a woman.
As an occasional speeding motorist who has previously parked my car for more than the pay and display ticket allowed, when can I expect the TSG to kick in my front door to give me the sound beating I obviously deserve?
He had to hit her twice... they never listen the first time.
The thing is Grimy Miner the protesters think they are representing everyone and they certainly do not represent me and does anyone actually know what they were protesting about?

They obviously do not represent most of the bloggers here, and nor do they need to, but the treatment of these protesters should sound the warning to all of us. An individual may support foxhunting, or photography in public places, or wanting our MP's to be corruption free, or anything really. An individual may want to show open dissent and protest - this sends the message that that individual can expect a good kicking, and maybe worse, if he DOES demonstrate.
Pastor Niemöller was aware of this - he realised that one persons oppression is everyones oppression.
Who will be left to speak for you ( or me for that matter ) when there is no-one left to protest?
GM
Steady Baz - remember that coppers are just another arm of the loathed Turkey Army - give em enough rope, and they will hang *us*
Even during the Miner's Strike, there were the more - shall we say - confrontational members on *both* sides of the protest: it only takes one numbskull to lash out, whether it be a mouthy gobshite or copper with a ready fist, for all sorts of shit to be stirred up.
Personally, though I don't necessarily agree with the protests, I do believe that they have a democratic duty to do what they do.
Democratic right not duty but otherwise I agree with the sentiment.
The copper who is lashing out appears to be black so at least they can claim they've conquered the "institutional racism" in the Met.
String em up! Only thing they understand! Bring back the birch.
well said grimy. this womans life is irrelevant its the actions of the copper which requires investigation not the victim. After all it could be any one of us next time and everybody will have a bit of dirt from the past somewhere. Is that how we are going to justify police brutality nowadays?
What about the guy who was killed ananymous? Is that okay as long as we can find something that proves he wasn't a pillar of society at some point in his life?
nice
The abuse of power could only be caused by two things. First is that these law enforcers are badly trained police officers and secondly police officers on a power trip. Either way, it is wrong.
